The Ft. McMurray Files Pt 2

I've been in Ft. McMurray for almost 6 weeks now. So far it's been pretty good. The work is good, and by good I mean it's pretty slack most of the time. Living in camp is interesting. From the outside, it looks like a prison, and it was supposedly built from a women's prison design. The rooms are very small and you share a bathroom with one other person. The food is pretty good (prime rib once a week, steak once a week, ice cream, and lots of chocolate milk, etc).

The disturbing thing is that, due to the severe lack of females, my standards are really starting to drop. The few "women" that live in camp and work up here, are UGLY. And they're kind of chubby and manly. We're talking full-on five o'clock shadow. Not good. There are a few women up here that are somewhat attractive, what we call "Ft McMurray hot". What this means is that in the context of living in camp, they're hot. But if you brought them back to civilization, they would become mediocre at best. All I can do is use my trusty laptop to find pictures of girls who are hot anywhere, not just in Ft. McMurray.
