Under the Sea

Has anyone else out there ever wondered why man hasn't endeavored to build an underwater city? With all our technology and science you would think that an underwater city would be a given. Especially since we've tried to build a space station, which when you think about it, is much more difficult to do given the relative inhospitability of space. While I'll admit that it would be pretty cool to have some sort of Death Star-esque space station, it remains a pretty daunting task.

So why would man not attempt to conquer the sea and utilize the vast amount of space available under the ocean? There are plenty of benefits to living under the sea, the most obvious being sexy mermaids such as Alyssa Milano. Plus there would probably be a nice humid climate, which would be a great benefit to somebody such as myself who lives in Alberta, which is very dry. I've racked my brain, and the only reason I could come up with is that we're afraid of sharks.

My theory is that as a human race, we're collectively terrified of sharks, especially Great White sharks. Sharks have been less than pleased with the human race for years now, given the number of innocent sharks that have been culled for no reason. Can't really blame them I guess. So the prospect of having an underwater city built in their ecosystem would probably drive them to the edge. Of course, this is only a theory. I could be wrong. I was wrong once back in '87.

You always characterize sharks as "innocent". What proof do you have to back this up? I mean really, look at them with their beady eyes. They seem kinda fishy to me. I wouldn't be at all shocked to discover that they have some insidious plot for world domination.

p.s. I caught the spelling mistake before you this time fucker!
